Dredge Pumps

Optimal dredging solutions

Deploying a cutter suction dredger is all about operational efficiency. Yet for stationary dredgers, one design does not fit all dredge jobs seamlessly. A sand dredger may be located in a mining pit during its entire lifetime, arriving kitted out as fits best. Most stationary dredgers though are relocated often. And every new dredge job offers a new challenge. For these dredgers BANGLAMARK offers a range of CSD options which can be added to the dredger to optimise the dredge operation.

Practical additions to your cutter suction dredger

► All our cutter suction dredgers are dismountable. This makes them easily transportable to the next dredging job. These dredging jobs may vary greatly, ranging from maintenance dredging in a small pond to capital dredging in a wide navigation channel of a busy port. Each dredging operation has its specific key to boost operational efficiency. The standard options for the cutter suction dredger range are available for exactly this purpose.

Easily adaptable dredgers

► The entire Damen CSD, or Cutter Suction Dredger, range has been designed with smart customisation in mind. The basic dredgers have been fitted our with for instance an integrated pedestal for anchor booms or a deck crane, or with mounting strips for anchor boom winches. The design also accommodates space for an optional accommodation unit, to be located under the control cabin. In doing so, the suction dredger can be easily adapted to its next dredging project.

Anchor booms

► A cutter suctions dredgers swings from starboard side to portside and back on its anchors. These anchors have to be relocated at regular intervals as the dredger moves forward. The process of repositioning the side wire anchors can be speeded up by adding anchor booms to the fore pontoons of the stationary dredger

Accommodation unit

► A CSD can be operated single-handedly. Yet on a dredge project, more crew will be present. These can be a mechanic, or the MultiCat skipper. To allow the dredge master and the other crew the room to sit down and have a meal, an accommodation unit can be added. When this option is chosen, the control cabin is placed on top of the accommodation. The dredge master will benefit from his high vantage point.

Spud carriage pontoon

► A wide dredge job such as cleaning a navigation channel will benefit from a dredger with a large swing. The effective swing width of a stationary dredger can be enhanced by adding a spud carriage pontoon at the rear of the dredger. Increasing the overall length will increase the dredger’s swing and therefore the project efficiency.

Options dedicated for Damen CSDs

► You may have noticed that we have mentioned that the options highlighted above are for Damen CSDs only. It is that our range has been fully prepared to add them when required. Without any actions of the cutting torch, the dredger is optimised for its next job. Should you wish to learn more on the complete CSDs, please check here.
